My name is Jodi Krangle and Im addicted to the web. (I feel like Im standing up in an AA meeting.) My fascination with computers began a long time ago. All through High School, University (I have an English B.A.), and beyond, I was working in computer stores - selling computer hardware. When the 386-SX was a new thing, I was a computer salesperson. (Dont worry if you dont know what a 386-SX is. Its LONG gone now.) In 1995 when I first discovered the Internet, I honestly had no idea where it would lead - but I knew right then that I loved it. I started designing websites. I did contract web design work for several companies around the world from my home in Toronto in 1995-96, right when the web was just starting to receive mainstream notoriety. In 1995, I also started a personal hobby site called The Muses Muse, a song writing resource that began as merely a listing of songwriting organizations around the world, a monthly survey and a page for musician classifieds. I thought I would put something online where I could talk with other people about what interested me. A lot of people were doing that sort of thing at the time. Interactivity or the use of community-building techniques like ongoing polls, feedback forms and classifieds were fairly new then. I didnt just want to talk AT people. I wanted to talk WITH them. Well. That little site grew... and grew... Some of the kudos for The Muses Muse include both a large write-up in Billboard Magazine (September 8, 2001), and mention in the February 11, 2002 edition of The Wall Street Journal (pg. E9). Not bad, huh? Ive worked as the advertising manager and web designer for a medium-sized data recovery company, the marketing director for a small gaming software development company, and as the director of online marketing services for a web design company. Besides the online marketing skills Ive honed throughout the years (as detailed in the rest of this website), Ive picked up a great many skills that could also be put to your use. These include: Basic HTML coding and design (ex: Clubs By Design , Imagine Service Group Inc. as well as this site) Copy writing for both press releases and the web (ex: Press release for Zillions Development Corporation ) Coordinating large web & press kit projects using both in-house and contracted resources (ex: Custom Game development presentation for Zillions of Games) The creation of promotional items (pens, mouse pads, mugs, etc.) including contracting the design work, researching costs and making sure the items are delivered on time. Handling both large and small advertising campaigns online and in print. Press release distribution through recognized newswire services. Creation of communities. This is something I take great pleasure in doing. I know the tools to get your clients talking to you. I can help you implement things like message boards, polls, contests, etc. to get your visitors participating. This is a great way to get people visiting your site over and over again. So why did I create this website and decide to strike out on my own? Because its time. I know there are a lot of folks out there looking for a less expensive alternative to making their internet presence work for them.
