My background is that of an economist. I have obtained a B.A. degree in Economics and African Politics and a B.A. (Hons) degree in Economics from UNISA as well an Advanced Certificate in International Economics from the Institut für Weltwirtschaft in Kiel, Germany. I have worked as an investment economist at Sanlam from 1986 to 1998 and was one of the founding members of Gryphon Asset Management. I am currently a lecturer in the Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management (FAPM) program at the University of Cape Town, where I teach Portfolio Theory and Corporate Finance/Investment Valuation. I am also a consultant for Global Insight, a large economic consultancy firm.
