Charlie Hooper began publishing his Vermont-based investment advisory newsletter in 1982, and in 1985, the very first year it was monitored, Hulbert Financial Digest rated Mutual Fund Strategist #1 among all newsletters tracked. Charlie was joined in 1986 by his daughter, Holly, and together this father-daughter team established a money management program for the benefit of subscribers who had neither the time, discipline, or inclination to follow the newsletter recommendations themselves. In 2006 Holly assumed the helm as sole editor of Mutual Fund Strategist.
