Monetta Funds In Stock Futures Funds Directory

The Monetta organization grew from a modest investment club formed in the early 1970s by Robert S. Bacarella, who was part of a team that managed the pension fund for a Fortune 500 company. (The name Monetta is derived from the Greek and Latin words for mint.) The company was founded in 1975 as Monetta Fund Limited Partnership. In 1979, the partnership registered as an investment advisory firm under the Investment Advisors Act of 1940. In 1984, the organizational structure was changed to a Subchapter-S Corporation, and the name Monetta Financial Services, Inc., was adopted. In 1986, the company established Monetta Fund, Inc., a mutual fund, as an investment vehicle for individual and institutional clients. At that time, the advisory company changed its name from Monetta to Monetta Financial Services, Inc. In 1993, the Monetta Trust Family of Funds was established to add product diversification. New funds established were the Monetta Mid-Cap Equity Fund, the Monetta Intermediate Bond Fund, and the Monetta Government Money Market Fund. In September 1995, the Monetta Blue Chip Fund (Formerly Large-Cap Equity Fund) and the Monetta Balanced Fund were added to the Monetta Trust Family to further diversify the fund offerings. Finally, on February 2, 1997, the Monetta Select Technology Fund (Formerly Small-Cap Equity Fund) was added to the Monetta Trust Family. All the Monetta Mutual Funds are distributed by Quasar Distributors, LLC.
