The COUNTRY Financial Security IndexSM is a bimonthly measure of Americans’ sentiments towards their overall financial security. Based on a national telephone survey of 3,000 Americans, the Index tracks how secure Americans feel about their own financial situation in relation to their stage in life. Survey questions range from taking care of shortterm needs and protecting current assets to planning for the future. Launched in February 2007, the survey provides an accurate snapshot of Americans’ financial security situation nationwide and also delves deeper into five local markets, including MinneapolisSt. Paul, St. Louis, Denver, Phoenix and Chicago.
